ECO WORLD FOUNDATION TRANSFORMS ‘PONDOK KASIH’ INTO INSPIRING SPACE AT SJKC PANDAN
Eco World Foundation has upgraded Pondok Kasih, a reading corner at SJKC Pandan, transforming it into a vibrant and student-friendly learning space that encourages reading, creativity and curiosity. The project, funded with RM45,000 and undertaken by Eco Spring, included structural and aesthetic enhancements such as a new roof, flooring, lighting, paintwork, ceiling fans and landscaping.
At the handover ceremony, Chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye emphasised that every child deserves a safe and inspiring space to learn, noting that Pondok Kasih reflects the Foundation’s commitment to educational empowerment under its EcoWorld Cares initiatives. Headmistress Madam Ong Lee Peng also expressed gratitude, highlighting how the upgraded space supports reading, group discussions, extra-curricular activities and student development.
DWP
Eco World Foundation successfully hosted its “Dialogue with Parents (DWP)” sessions, aimed at strengthening engagement between parents and the Foundation’s Students Aid Programme (SAP). Through informative briefings and inspiring testimonials from former SAP beneficiaries who have since graduated, parents gained clearer insight into the support provided and the vital role they play in their children’s educational journey.
With an encouraging average turnout of 75% across 11 sessions, the strong participation reflects parents’ commitment to their children’s growth. Energised by this response, Eco World Foundation remains dedicated to empowering more students through SAP, working together with parents and communities to nurture a new generation of capable, motivated and successful young individuals.
Featuring bookshelves, picture book displays and comfortable seating, the refreshed Pondok Kasih now serves as a warm and versatile hub for students and teachers — promoting a positive learning atmosphere and strengthening the school’s overall educational environment.
